Dr. Nim completed her undergraduate studies at Georgia State University and attended optometry school at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. She participated in several international volunteer trips during optometry school, providing eye care to underserved areas in Haiti, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica.
Dr. Nim discovered her passion for specialty contact lenses during her clinical rotations. She was fortunate to work alongside talented doctors with many years of experience fitting specialty contact lenses, especially scleral lenses. During this time, she witnessed firsthand how impactful scleral lenses were in improving a patient’s quality of life.
For most patients, scleral lenses are life-changing in that they allow the patient to see sharply for the first time. For Dr. Nim, the excitement on her patients’ faces as their vision is restored one of the most rewarding parts of fitting these lenses.
While restoring vision with scleral lenses is a passion of Dr. Nim’s, she is also a big advocate of Orthokeratology or Ortho-k contact lenses, especially for her younger. These myopic or nearsighted patients have seen the progression from year to year. Because ortho-k lenses are designed to slow myopia progression, Dr. Nim is also excited to offer this service to her patients.
Dr. Nim enjoys spending time with her friends and family, cooking, and traveling. She also enjoys tending to her extensive collection of plants. Her hobbies include jogging, rope jumping, rock climbing, and she dreams of climbing the Italian Dolomites one day.
